ST CLEMENT’S WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP PSALM

This was created by the Women’s Fellowship! If you want to know how, ask one of us or come on Tuesdays at 2.30pm!

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;

Praise the LORD, O my soul;
And all that is within me, praise His holy name!
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same

the LORD's name is to be praised.

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised:

he is to be feared above all gods

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth

Praise him with the sound of the trumpet:

Praise him with the psaltery and harp.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory,

and the lifter up of mine head.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call to you.

Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy.

In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.

Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, O LORD,

Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.

Praise the LORD.

Women’s Fellowship

During 2009 we tried to follow our outline monthly plan even if rather loosely! We welcomed speakers during the year who broadened our knowledge of the world such as travelling to Egypt with Vic and Gwen, shopping in Paris, a lifetime’s work setting up and training in Midwifery in Papua New Guinea by Avis Scriven, and insights into the work of MAFF and Christian Aid.

Speakers who helped us think about our physical and spiritual life were Jonathan, Jeanette Cronk, Brian and Gaynor, and Margaret Hutchinson who gave us everyday exercises which we tried! Marianne Crabb and Anne Bishop explained about Faithworks and work with carers, locally.

Fun afternoons such as with Kate Greenaway’s ‘Enjoying being a Woman!’, reports and pictures of the Church Holiday, and others where we ate cake and drank tea out of our favourite mugs or wore hats that told a story- some surprises here, mixed in with quieter times considering Easter or what Creation shows us of God, and Thoughts from a Stable, poems for Christmas. Music played a part too when Peter Aston played for us and as always the Winmoor Singers were very welcome.

We have been very pleased to share with the Mothers’ Union members on three occasions: the Summer Outing, a joint meeting in September and the lovely Christmas Party with Bells!

We have begun a new project: A challenge to produce a Banner for Trinity. Gaynor has inspired a different approach using paint and silk. A small group have got together to mastermind it with regular input from the members.

Prayer and song and sharing news is always an important part of the meeting every week. We praise God for each other and that he hears our prayers.

Join us at 2.30pm in the small hall on Tuesdays. You’re welcome!
